For caffeine to have a positive effect on exercise, you need a dose of about 3mg per kilogram of body mass. At rest, an 80mg dose will have a mildly positive effect on cognitive function for most people. With 4% of our recipe containing coffee beans, our recipe would not get close to an 80mg dose.
Note that most sports supplements (e.g. energy gels or hydration drinks and powders) use roughly 30-40mg of caffeine per serve.

Energy during exercise is provided from carbohydrate (mostly muscle glycogen) and fat. Exercise sessions completed at higher exercise intensity is primarily fuelled by oxidation of carbohydrates (muscle and liver glycogen).
